Job Summary
Accurately posts and process transactions and adjustments from Payers and Patients.
Duties
· Posts payments, contractual adjustments and denials (with reason codes) manually to patient accounts in EPIC.
· Works in EPIC Remittance workqueues to cleanup and post payments that could not be post electronically
· Balances & logs all deposits in CBO Excel spreadsheets
· Review and process refunds
· Submits provider inquiries to payers for claim adjustments
· Posts patient payments held in EPIC work queues that require manual intervention, and completes patient refund requests
· Enters various physician charges, as required. Maintains physician Outlook charge calendars.
· Answers phone promptly and courteously and relay messages to other staff members as necessary.
· Attends reimbursement seminars and department meetings/training, as required.
· Informs supervisor of problem accounts and problem areas that affect daily operations and procedures.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with emphasis on business courses. Data entry experience required. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction with attention to detail. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
