Surgery Scheduler

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately recorded and communicated. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, as you will interact with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to facilitate seamless surgical operations.

Duties

• Schedule surgical procedures by coordinating with surgeons, patients, and medical staff.
• Maintain accurate records of patient information, including care plans and ICD-9 codes.
• Manage the front desk operations, including answering phone calls and responding to inquiries.
• Utilize computerized scheduling systems to track appointments and ensure efficient workflow.
• Assist in the preparation of patient documentation and ensure compliance with medical office management standards.
• Perform 10 key typing for data entry tasks related to patient scheduling and medical records.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure all necessary pre-operative assessments are completed.

Experience

• Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, particularly in roles such as Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, care plans, and coding systems (ICD-9) is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in using computerized systems for scheduling and record management.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
