2025 SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM – Substitute Teacher

POSITION: Superintendent, Dr. Tonja Williams Knight, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

SUMMER 2025

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates MUST be a current substitute teacher with Buffalo Public Schools.

LOCATIONS, TIMES and DATES: Subject to change according to needs of the district

SEE DATES FOR EACH PROGRAM:

7-8 Middle School Program: Full Day

9-12 High School Program: Full Day

Candidates for Buffalo Public Schools Summer School are eligible to work for one of the summer programs only.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Summer School Program substitute teachers will provide the following educational assistance:

• Providing instruction, managing the classroom environment, and promoting student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. 
• May implement teacher lesson plans, assign student class work and homework, maintain classroom control and discipline. 
• May be required to complete a daily report or evaluation to communicate any pertinent information resulting from the day's events. 
• Establishing effective working relationships with staff and students is very important.
• Other duties assigned by the building Administrator or his/her Administrative designee.
