Summary of Duties
Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Interact professionally with other team members, guests, and vendors. Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments. Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other team members and organizations. Maintain strict privileged, proprietary guest and employer confidentiality during and beyond the terms of employment. Adhere to all work rules, policies & procedures, and safety standards. Present a well-groomed appearance that reflects professionally upon the Surveillance Department. Proactively train, develop, and lead Surveillance team members.
Position Purpose
To lead and direct the daily activities of the Surveillance Department to ensure protective oversight for persons and property and Casino compliance. To provide outstanding Guest Service for our guests, as well as safeguard our guests, team members, and Casino assets. To lead the day-to-day operations of the department, as well as provide guidance and sufficient training to team members.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Overseeing the activities of the Surveillance Department.
- Be knowledgeable in all Casino games and associated rules.
- Ensuring that company assets, team members and guests are protected by utilizing an effective training program and certification plan for Surveillance team.
- Provide an objective investigation and documentation of complaints, allegations of theft, workplace accidents and procedural violations.
- Responsible for compliance with internal control standards, as well as Federal, State & Tribal laws and regulations.
- Maintain a HIGH level of confidentiality.
- Knowledge of access control, key control, and all relevant surveillance software and applications.
- Coach and mentor team members as often as necessary to ensure successful operations.
- Provide oversight and execution of all training of new team members, ongoing training assignments, and scheduling needs.
- Work closely with Department Managers, Casino Administration, and outside Law Enforcement to resolve any immediate concern or situation.
- Complete any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High School diploma required
- Must have problem solving skills, keen observation skills and computer skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Must be able to make clear, level-headed decisions under pressure and/or emergency circumstances.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain Gaming License
- Must be willing to attend training and meetings outside of the scheduled work hours, if required.
- Work is performed in a casino environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and/or temperature.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to safely drive a company vehicle on request.
- Must possess the ability to act in response rationally and responsibly to emergency/life-threatening situations. This includes sufficient knowledge of the use of force techniques and when they should be utilized.
- At least 3-5 years of previous relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education is preferred.
- Gaming industry experience is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in loss prevention or law enforcement is preferred, and prior supervisory experience.
- Be able to complete other assigned tasks.
Licensing
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License
Work Requirements
Requires problem solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. Position involves prolonged walking, stooping, or bending, lifting, or carrying up to 50 pounds daily. Work is performed in a casino environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
