JOB TITLE: Medical Assistant - Detox FT and PT
DEPT: Nashville - Detox
SCHEDULE: Shifts available include 7a-7p / 7p-7a with rotating weekend shift coverage
SUMMARY
Buffalo Valley has an employment opportunity for Medical Assistants to work in conjunction with trained Detox nursing staff to provide safe evidence based care for individuals in a medical detox setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepares Clients for evaluation and assessment by providers at time of admission and ensure accurate and through client health history is obtained
- Measures, and records client's vital signs
- Maintains record of persons treated, and prepares accident reports
- Completes client medical, medication history to be added to the clinical record. Follows up on referrals made by staff for physical and/or dietary issues
- Is responsible for the follow-up and documentation of medical information into the client's clinical record including: CIWA-AR, COWS
- Works collaboratively with all team members as well as the nursing staff to ensure quality care and services are being provided to clients at all times
- Performs other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Pass Background Check and Drug Screen required
- Must have strong computer skills with ability to type 30 wpm
- Must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills and strong organizational skills with paperwork
- Keeps a current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Valid TN D.L. with "F" endorsement required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School Diploma or GED
