Overview:
As a Lead Receptionist you will:

Responsibilities / Qualifications:
- Oversee and support reception staff in day-to-day operations.
- Partner with Lead Veterinarian, Hospital Manager, and Lead Vet Assistants to best support staff,
- Assist in maintaining excellent flow of communication with all staff.
- Build and maintain respectful, positive relationships with all staff and clients.
- Encourage the spirit of teamwork and maintain a pleasant, respectful, and productive environment.
- Can work to maintain an effective veterinarian appointment schedule, screening emergencies and
- Receive and place calls to clients for the purpose of scheduling.
- Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
- Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records, i.e. referral documentation, previous
- Assist all clients by providing necessary instructions, information and invoices, dispense prescription
- Utilize hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and
- Manage the financial needs of the hospital by maintaining accurate balances through collection of
opening and closing procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills and an exceptional level of communication in a professional manner.
- Advocate for pets through client education on preventative care, pet health needs, treatment
- Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets and other teammates.
- Demonstrate ability to show empathy toward clients and treat pets with compassion and respect.
- Oversee all client correspondence and ensure success.
- Keep the lobby/exam room flow moving efficiently by directing the team and helping teammates to
- Create and post work schedules for the receptionist team.
- Lead monthly receptionist meetings
- Lead daily receptionist huddles
- Train new receptionists
- Organize and conduct regular training for team
- Utilizing standard office/business equipment.
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Experience with veterinary software is preferred.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Possession of organizational skills.
- Critical thinking – Understanding logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, good judgment and ability to manage
- Pay range of $17.00-21.00/hour based on experience
