About the Role
We are seeking an experienced estate planning and/or estate administration paralegal to support our estate planning or estate administration practice. The ideal candidate has 5 years of experience in North Carolina estate law, strong technical skills (Clio preferred), and the ability to take ownership of cases. Â Leadership experience is a plus, but we are open to training the right candidate with a strong desire to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Estate Planning Paralegal:
- Draft & Prepare Documents – Wills, trusts, POAs, healthcare directives.
- Client Intake & Communication – Gather information, maintain contact.
- Funding & Asset Transfers – Assist with trust funding, beneficiary updates.
- Execution & Notarization – Coordinate signings, ensure compliance.
Estate Administration Paralegal:
- Probate & Court Filings – File petitions, inventories, accountings.
- Asset Identification & Distribution – Locate, value, and transfer assets.
- Creditor Claims & Estate Debts – Manage notifications and settlements.
- Estate Tax & Accounting Assistance – Support tax prep and financial tracking.
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of estate planning or administration experience (NC-specific preferred).
- Proficiency in MicroSoft Office (Outlook, Work & Excel) and a legal software program (Clio or similar).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases.
- Desire to grow into a leadership role (if less experienced).
