Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and forecasting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk, ensuring optimal liquidity and resource allocation.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with banks, investors, auditors, and financial institutions.
- Oversee job costing, contract compliance, and project financial performance, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Develop and enforce internal controls and financial policies to mitigate risks and enhance compliance.
- Lead financial planning and analysis, providing insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Monitor and optimize profit margins, cost efficiencies, and return on investment for all projects.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry financial standards.
- Implement financial technology solutions and process improvements to enhance reporting and decision-making.
- Support M&A activities, strategic partnerships, and capital investment initiatives.
- Mentor and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- 10 years of financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in the construction industry (general contracting experience preferred).
- CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing, WIP reporting, and revenue recognition.
- Expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
- Experience working with surety bonding, banking relationships, and financial compliance in construction.
- Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage 300, Procore, or similar).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and present insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong track record of optimizing financial operations and improving profitability.
