What are the responsibilities and job description for the Survey Coordinator position at BUILD Renewables LLC?
The Survey Coordinator will provide technical and drafting support to the Project Management and Field Operations teams. This position focuses on managing, updating, and distributing project design files, as-built documents, and construction drawings, primarily using Civil 3D and AutoCAD software. While this role supports field engineering functions, it is office-based and centers on ensuring accurate and timely transfer of information between designers, engineers, and site crews.
Essential Functions
- Review, update, and manage CAD drawings and as-built documentation.
- Review and reference design files (e.g., pile layouts, grading plans) for accuracy and completeness.
- Upload and distribute CAD data and files from design partners (e.g., Kimley Horn) to relevant site personnel.
- Provide file management and drawing support to Field Engineers and project supervision.
- Assist in reviewing and incorporating markups into design revisions.
- Maintain organized digital records of drawings and updates throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Field Engineers to support technical drawing needs.
- Ensure the latest versions of documents are available to field crews (e.g., pile drivers).
- Perform administrative file handling tasks, including converting, labeling, and tracking revisions.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate technical updates as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project success.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Civil Technology, Engineering Tech, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 1 year of experience using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D in a construction, engineering, or utilities environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, site supervisors, and contractors.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and pass background and drug screening.
Working Conditions
- 100% travel required; projects are nationally based.
- Construction Site Environment – ability to lift 50 lbs., crawl, bend, reach, and climb; exposed to noise, dust, and weather.
- Office/Shop Environment – some standing, lifting, and computer work.
- Exposure to all weather conditions for extended periods.
Pay Range
$28- $30 per hour
