Our Community Integration Program :
This is our 100% community-based day program serving adults with developmental disabilities. This program focuses on pre-vocational skills, safe use of public transportation, social skills practice, and exploration of individual interests.As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for :
Meeting participants at a community hub each morning, and facilitating the scheduled activities for the day, including the use of public transportation.Providing opportunities for the participants to develop socialization / interpersonal communication skills and practice self-regulation / coping techniques.Providing hands-on training, observation, and evaluation of the participant's pre-vocational skills, and finding educational opportunities or classes to assist with further development.Advocating for participants' inclusion in the community and empowering them to exercise their rights.Using BuildAbility’s digital program to log the individual’s progress and performance.Schedule :
Part-time (27 hours a week)Monday to Friday, 9 : 30 a.m. - 3 : 30 p.m.Work location :

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with individuals with disabilities, their family members, employers, and others in a positive and constructive manner.High school diploma or GED.Must pass a DOJ Live Scan fingerprinting background clearance.Valid California Driver’s License, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.Proof of two COVID-19 vaccination doses or submit a request for accommodation based upon a medical condition or deeply held religious belief.Preferred Qualifications :
Fluent in Spanish.Cultural awareness and adaptability.Familiarity with the Los Angeles Metro system (MetroGo app, route planning, etc.).Knowledge of HCBS Final rule guidelines.Crisis management skills.Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
