Customs Specialist

Position Overview: 

This role develops, manages, and executes global trade compliance strategies to ensure adherence to customs laws and regulations. Working under Supply Chain and other internal stakeholders such as Operations and Logistics, the position ensures smooth cross-border operations and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage import/export processes, including documentation and classification.
• Oversee customs compliance, duty management, and brokerage operations.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders for duty savings.
• Collaborate with various departments and monitor industry regulatory changes.
• Develop operational procedures, broker performance management, and training programs.
• Own documents such as Finished Goods, Raw Materials and Bill of Material catalogs.
• Update documentation on a regular basis to account for new products and/or changes in regulation.
• Be the main point of contact for US, MX, and CA brokers.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration; MBA preferred.
• 3 years working with customs broker or exporter/importer, especially Mexico, U.S., and Canada. 
• Working knowledge of import and export shipments, custom regulations, and tariff classifications.
• Certified Customs Specialist (CSS) preferred.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Fluent in Spanish.
• Position may require occasional travel, domestic and international, to other BuildASign/Cimpress manufacturing locations.
• This position is located in El Paso, TX.
