About the Role
As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for your own set of clients, or book of business if you will, and have the opportunity to impact a lot of small businesses and their employees. You will also have a bookkeeping/admin assistant and eventually have the opportunity of growing a larger team. Your main responsibilities will include monthly closes and being the point of contact for your client base while managing the bookkeeping workflows with the help of your bookkeeping assistant.
This is a remote position, but if you are close to the Birmingham, AL area, that is a huge plus.
What Your Day to Day Will Look Like
- Oversee, communicate & be responsible for all of your clients to ensure that they are well-serviced from A-Z and that they are kept satisfied
- Prepare & present monthly and year-end financial statements and Work-In-Progress Reports
- Review the day-to-day work performed by your Bookkeepers to ensure that everything is on track
- Be accountable for the quality and timeliness of all tasks related to your construction clients
- Help us grow the Controller service lines, such as Online Bill Pay, Invoicing/Accounts Receivable, monthly WIP Reporting, KPI tracking, and more
What You Need to Succeed
- You have obtained your Bachelor's Degree
- You have obtained your CPA accounting designation
- You have at least 5 years of accounting experience
- You have some experience working in an accounting firm (audit experience not required)
- You have experience managing a team
- You are a clear communicator
- You believe in delivering awesome customer service and you have experience in a customer-facing role
- You have corporate tax, individual tax & tax planning experience
- You are able to take a messy set of books and turn it into something pretty.
- You have experience constructing year-end financial statements
- You have experience in construction accounting and Work-In-Progress reporting
- You are able to and like working in a fast-paced environment
- You are a problem solver
- You have at least 3 years of experience with QuickBooks Online

Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
