The Associate - Investments position for Builder Capital will be responsible for providing analysis and support in all activities related to the acquisition and management of the company's investments. This person will work closely with senior management as well as other members at the firm.
Location: Annapolis, MD
The Associate - Investments position’s primary focus will be taking the lead on the financial analysis, due diligence, research, financial modeling, and presentations related to new and existing investments. The candidate should have investment or financial consulting experience in a related field. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Acquisitions
- Develop financial models for new investment opportunities and existing holdings.
- Takes the lead on managing third-party report processes.
- Assists in the financial analysis of new acquisition opportunities.
- Serves as one of the key points of contact with brokers, consultants, attorneys and other investment professionals.
- Collects, analyzes, and reviews information in the acquisition of prospective and existing investments.
- Works with the team during the underwriting process to assist in structuring and analyzing transactions to prepare them for investment committee review.
- Assist with market research and analyzes market data including demographics, competitor positioning, and economic information.
- Assist with ad-hoc/special projects as needed.
- Travels to tour properties and markets, and meets with brokers and consultants, as deemed necessary.
Asset Management
- Monitor and analyze portfolio performance to support decision making and business strategy
- Assist in the management of consultants, brokers, escrow agents / title companies to manage assets in portfolios and the disposition of assets over investment term.
- Compile and analyze weekly leasing, operations and capital improvement reporting metrics
- Complete monthly & quarterly portfolio and asset-level reporting for lot banking, leasing investments.
- Update quarterly valuations
- Manage and maintain project records, reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics or related field
- 2 years’ professional experience in a related field
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and financial modeling are required
- Proficiency with PowerPoint and Word are required
- Superior analytical skills
- Strong writing and critical analysis skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
- Team player with excellent leadership skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize duties, manage time efficiently, and multi-task
