Position Summary

The Loss Control Consultant delivers essential services to evaluate and mitigate risk for policyholders and prospective clients through thorough worksite inspections. This field-based position involves detailed data collection, comprehensive evaluations, and the formulation of effective hazard control recommendations. The Consultant is also responsible for developing clear and comprehensive reports to guide risk management decisions.

Responsibilities
 

• Conduct comprehensive inspections at the worksites of existing and prospective policyholders.
• Prepare detailed reports that offer Underwriters a clear understanding of policyholders', and potential clients’, operations and their capabilities in managing hazards.
• Stay current with advancements in risk control and safety by engaging in self-study and participating in professional courses and seminars.
• Contribute to risk selection and improvement processes, ensuring the delivery of timely, professional, and consultative safety management services to clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Construction, Safety or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• Two or more years of insurance experience in loss control or risk management
• Knowledgeable of residential and light commercial construction, general liability and workers’ compensation hazards

• Skill in interpersonal interactions, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external contacts; skill in customer service and problem-solving
• Capacity to travel and work autonomously, in various field locations, while ensuring transparent communication with internal leadership
• Skill in analysis, time and organizational management; ability to multi-task effectively while paying attention to detail
• Proficient in both verbal and written communication with the ability and commitment to maintain confidentiality
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and function specific software applications
