The Opportunity:

Leverage your knowledge and industry experience and join our team in the Network Administrator role. This role is responsible for network maintenance and support on BMIC local and wide area networks, relating to users, applications, and network devices. The Network Administrator will install, configure, and support the software and hardware components of internal/external networks, as well as deploy and maintain all systems, applications, and related network equipment. They are responsible for troubleshooting network performance and will act as a technical resource to end users. Because the success of our company is rooted in teamwork, the way we care about the people we work with and serve, this is a hybrid role as you work in our Raleigh office for a minimum of two days with the flexibility of remote work three days a week.  

Your Work as the Network Administrator Will Make a Difference as You:

• Perform the planning, development, and management of all network services, programs, and support throughout the enterprise
• Administer and maintain the use of all networks as well as connections to the Internet and peripheral equipment
• Install, maintain, evaluate, and upgrade all network hardware and software
• Provide internal and external network support (firmware updates, software patches, hardware maintenance etc.)
• Maintain change control records and perform network device backups
• Monitor company use of the network including internet traffic, site-to-site VPN’s, secure VPNs, and wireless networks
• Assist in transforming current network topologies to facilitate a change to cloud initiatives
• Occasional on-call, weekend or extended hours will be required.

Skills to Get the Job Done Right:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or an acceptable combination of education and relevant work experience required. Insurance industry experience a plus.
• Three to five years of hands-on experience managing and supporting network systems, infrastructure (on-premises and/or cloud) and applications. Professional network certifications such as CompTIA Network , CCNA, CCIE, CWNA, or CCNP required.
• Overall knowledge of networking equipment and software from vendors such as Palo Alto, SonicWall, Cisco and ExtraHop and understanding of Azure IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) concepts and networking
• Demonstrated ability to explain complex network concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences; excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of Routing & Switching in LAN/WAN architectures, WLAN, Radius, Firewalls, VPN, SD-WAN, encryption, and Azure cloud services
• Strong analytic, problem-solving, documentation and organizational skills.
