Assistant Store Manager
Basic Function :
The Assistant Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining high levels of customer service. Our cause is "Committed to Exceeding Expectations" . The assistant store manager is accountable for the operation and leadership of the store to ensure maximum sales and profitability through merchandising, inventory management, expense control, and human resource management. The assistant store manager must manage operating costs and shrinkage.
Principal Responsibilities :
1] Ensure that every customer receives high quality service in a customer friendly environment. The manager must ensure the customers are greeted, acknowledged and receives the highest quality of service, product knowledge, and other aspects to accomplish complete customer satisfaction.
2] The manager, in conjunction with the company Store Manager, will assist and contribute in the planning and execution of a store management plan. This will include the establishment of goals and key performance indicators to measure performance of the store plan and budget.
3] Use leadership and management skills to manage shrink, expenses, and payroll in accordance with store goals and plan.
4] Manage appropriate merchandise stock levels, merchandise adjacencies and high quality presentations; signing, and assortments; ensure that selling floor maintains high level of in-stock positions. Maintain high customer service levels in delivery and drive thru.
5] Assist buying staff with competitive shopping and result reports : share information with appropriate parties and make pricing adjustments.
6] Run training program for new hires and continued training for all staff members.
7] Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures through regular staff, and department meetings.
8] Continually monitor and react to performance issues. Continually coach team members to improve performance, training, service levels, and maintain a high quality working environment for team members. Must be able to effectively assess performances by team members in the store.
9] Actively recruits management candidates.
10] Any other responsibilities assigned by Store Manager or CEO / COO.
Other Essential Requirements :
1] Must have the ability to efficiently use company computer system and demonstrate competencies in word processing and spread sheets. Must be analytical.
2] Must have the ability to effectively communicate goals and objectives both verbally and in writing to team members and supervisor. Must be able to delegate work assignments, set expectations, monitor delegated activities, inspire and motivate team members to perform delegated work. Assure proper completion and follow up.
3] Must be able to communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs.
4] Have the ability to freely move thru out all areas of the company and community.
5] Judgment. Must display willingness to make decisions, exhibit sound judgment, and make timely decisions. Does have final say in matters of customer service. May be asked to intervene in confrontations with customers or team members. Store Manager may be asked to make and allow exceptions to company policies but in most cases will enforce policies set by the company.
7] Must have the ability to accept feed back from others.
8] Safety and Security : Must assure that team members observe safety and security procedures. Be diligent in effort to provide a safe work place.
9] Must have the ability to work varied hours / days to oversee store operations. This is a position that requires energetic leadership with 50 plus hours per week.
10] Critical requirement is the setting of the overall business atmosphere by acting with integrity and treating customers and team members respectfully.
