The Northern Nevada Building & Construction Trades Council Development Corp. (“Corporation”) is a nonprofit corporation organized exclusively for charitable purposes and operating in Washoe County, Nevada. The charitable purposes of the Corporation are to provide decent and affordable housing in Washoe County, Nevada; to promote and assist other nonprofit entities in and about Washoe County with job training and vocational support, especially for members of disadvantaged communities; to promote and assist other nonprofit entities in Washoe County with the provision of free or subsidized food and nourishment for members of disadvantaged communities; and to acquire by purchase, grant, or gift property to assist in the foregoing purposes.
Clients in our community will require a variety of services to assist them in their times of need and help direct them towards financial stability. The primary roles of the Program Manager will be acting as a fundraiser, grant writer, and ambassador for the Corporation. This position will have the opportunity to grow with the Corporation.
Job Description
The Program Manager (“PM”) will be responsible for executing the vision of the Corporation so it has the appropriate systems, grants, and processes in place to effectively maintain, fund, and expand the organization. The PM will be responsible for ensuring operating efficiency and delivering exceptional operational and financial results through management of day-to-day tasks. The PM in conjunction with the Board of Directors will oversee and implement the development of the annual operating and program budgets for the Corporation.
The PM will ensure a safe and positive work environment through compliance with established safety guidelines, will adhere to all applicable state and federal employment, labor and related laws, and foster an environment that supports the missions and core values of the Corporation.
The PM will report directly to the Board of Directors of the Corporation. The Board of Directors are appointed by members of the Building & Construction Trades Council of Northern Nevada. Any candidate for the PM position must be committed to the mission of the Corporation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Development and Administration
● Ensure that the organization is executing its mission in a consistent and timely fashion.
● Demonstrate initiative in implementing and refining programs, organizational, and financial plans with the Board of Directors and staff and carry out Board-authorized plans and policies.
● Ensure efficient office operations, including maintaining all adequate records and materials, safeguarding Corporation assets, and maintaining the physical office of the Corporation.
● Ensure the Board is kept adequately informed of the condition of the organization (financial and otherwise) and apprised of all environment and public factors affecting the Corporation.
● Respond to all correspondence sent to the Corporation jointly and with the designated Board members, to include the execution of all necessary legal documents for the Corporation.
● Perform other duties on behalf of the Corporation upon direction of the Board of Directors on an as needed basis.

Communications and Public Relations
● Publicize the activities of the organization, its programs and goals.
● Utilize social media to promote the agency, its programs and fundraisers.
● Promote active and broad participation by Trustees and volunteers in all areas of the organization's work.
● Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field.
● Utilize resources within organizations of the Northern Nevada CLC & Northern Nevada Building Trades to support program development and administration of the Development Corp
● Ensure positive relationships with supporters and funders of the Development Corp.
● Represent the Development Corp to a diverse variety of community partners including affiliated organizations of the Northern Nevada CLC and Northern Nevada Building Trades.
● Establish sound working relationships, partnerships and cooperative arrangements with community-based organizations, local, state and federal agencies and with the affiliates of the Northern Nevada CLC and Northern Nevada Building Trades.
Budget & Financial Management
● Explore available grant opportunities
● Write, submit and track grant applications.
● Identify potential funding sources.
● Help plan, organize, and execute fundraisers.
● Working with the Board, track relevant legislative and regulatory changes.
● Engage in continuing career development and education that contributes to the mission and goals of the organization.
● Work with other staff, accountant, and the Board in preparing a budget and ensure the organization operates within budget guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
●Bachelor’s Degree or five years in non-profit work directing business and program activities
● Skills in budgeting, fiscal management, fund development
● Mastery of Microsoft Office
● History with compliance or willingness to take compliance training (some grants depending on amounts, require specific audits, and it is essential to be in compliance at all times)
● Experience with Zoom Grants/SurveyMonkey/GrantStation
● Experience in program development
● Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting non-profits
Communication Skills
● Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions and other documents
● Ability to write detailed instructions, procedure and correspondence.
● Able to effectively present information one-on-one, as well as in both small and large settings
● Skills to read and follow instructions on grant applications and write for a variety of grants
● Experience building & maintaining community networks
