Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Building Inspector to join our team. This position will be responsible for delivering premium service to client jurisdictions as a Third Party Provider. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. The Building Inspector will play a crucial role in maintaining quality control throughout the construction lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of residential and commercial buildings at various stages of construction.
- Maintain relationships with client jurisdictions by delivering premium service.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and contract documents to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Perform quality inspections on materials and workmanship to ensure adherence to standards.
- Identify any deficiencies or violations during inspections and provide detailed reports.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, and engineers to address any issues found during inspections.
- Monitor construction sites for safety compliance and report any hazards.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and correspondence related to each project.
- Stay updated on changes in building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- The following certifications through DHCD are required - Combination Residential Inspector, Combination Commercial Inspector.
- The following certifications through DHCD are preferred - Residential Building Plans Examiner, Building Official.
- Proven experience in construction inspection or related field is preferred.
- Strong skills in blueprint reading and understanding of construction methods.
- Knowledge of quality control processes and techniques applicable to the construction industry.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with contractors and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality inspection.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
