Job Summary :
Building Connections Behavioral Health (BCBH) is looking for motivated, energetic individuals who have a passion for helping others and working within a team. At BCBH, our foundation is built from the bottom up. Every team member is an integral part of the treatment team focused on one goal, to provide the best possible service to our clients and their families. We work with children who may be on the Autism spectrum, who may have behavioral difficulties or neurological differences, and we help them gain skills to be their most independent and fulfilled selves. This is done through providing 1 : 1 support, providing parent education, and being a safe support system for our clients.
We are looking to fill 1 part-time School-Based Occupational Therapist role that will help support our Clinic in Walnut Creek and our Non-Public Schools in both Concord and Martinez. This is an in-person role and the business typically takes place between the operating hours of 9 : 00 am and 3 : 00 pm.
Qualifications :
- Occupational Therapy License (Required)
- Registered with the American Occupational Therapy Association and / or certified with the National Board of Occupational Therapy
- Possession of a valid California driver’s license
- Intellectual, sensory, and physical development of children
- Application of occupational therapy techniques utilized in the assessment and treatment of children with disabilities
- Theory of physical and mental rehabilitation underlying the practices of occupational therapy; Principles, methods, and objectives of occupational therapy treatment, services, techniques of skeletal anatomy, neuromuscular function, and dysfunction; kinesiology and occupational therapy modalities
- Actively support Building Connections Academy’s mission, vision, values, and goals
- Principles of consultation, training, and supervision;
- Accurately assess the developmental status and educational needs of children;
- Maintain student performance data and documentation
- Support quality improvement efforts by complying with company initiatives and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency
- Follow and uphold all Building Connections Academy’s policies outlined in the handbook, and procedural documents
- Carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the applicable laws. Provide leadership and management to ensure that the core values are always put into practice
- The employee may be required to intervene and de-escalate physical and emotional outbursts by students, including such behaviors as kicking, spitting, hitting, scratching, biting, running, and cursing; the employee must be able to run quickly for brief spurts
- While performing the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, move and walk at a brisk pace, sit, and use hands and arms to handle, feel, and reach
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop or kneel and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
- The position requires the ability to accompany students anywhere on school premises, including support with toileting and other basic needs

Building Connections Behavioral Health, Inc. was founded in April of 2013 and is head quartered in Walnut Creek, CA. We focus on increasing independence for children, teens, and young adults with developmental disabilities through Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). We currently provide services across the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We provide the following services : - In home and clinic provided ABA services for individuals age 0 to 22 years. - Early Intervention services for individuals age 12 to 36 months. - Diagnostic, Developmental, and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA). - School based services including 1 : 1 RBTs, Functional Behavioral Assessments, and Behavioral Supports, Staff Trainings and In-Services - Parent, Family, and Caregiver Training and Education. - Classes and Training for individuals of all ages. - Social Skills Groups for clients age 3 to 21 years.
Salary : $75 - $100
