Job Title: Hardscaping Crew Leader
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Hardscaping Crew Leader to oversee and execute outdoor hardscape projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and efficient team management. The ideal candidate will have experience in paver installation, retaining walls, and other landscape construction elements. Leadership skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of hardscape crew members in the construction and installation of patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, designs, and specifications to ensure accurate project execution.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment such as excavators, skid steers, compactors, and saws.
- Ensure that all work is completed according to company standards, industry best practices, and safety regulations.
- Train and mentor crew members to develop their skills and improve productivity.
- Maintain an organized job site, ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are properly used and stored.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, and team members to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise on-site, making adjustments as necessary to maintain efficiency and quality.
- Monitor project progress, documenting work completed and reporting any delays or challenges.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and local building codes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hardscaping, landscaping, or construction.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficiency in installing pavers, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, and other hardscape elements.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of hardscaping materials, techniques, and industry best practices.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as skid steers, excavators, and compactors.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to challenges on the job site.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL is a plus.
- OSHA certification or other safety training is a plus.
