PA UCC Building Inspector

The ideal candidate will be responsible for a range of activities which will include, but not limited to:

Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming plan reviews for residential and commercial construction projects.
• Perform inspections and evaluations of commercial and residential construction, which may include complex structural and non-structural components, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems and determine compliance with PA UCC and other applicable regulations.
• Compile and evaluate findings of investigations and inspections.
• Issue construction permits, occupancy permits and approve final inspection certificates.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records and reports related to inspection activities.

Requirements

• Current certifications with PA UCC or willingness to obtain them within a certain timeframe.
• Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent. Background in construction preferred.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Time management and scheduling experience.

Qualifications

• Strong written and communication skills.
• Ability to communication courteously, yet firmly with contractors and clients.
• Support municipal departments, as needed.
• Ability to comprehend complex building regulations and be able to communicate them clearly to others.
• Ability to problem-solve effectively.
• Ability to work on your own and in a team setting.
• Ability to work in a past pace environment.

Schedules are managed and set by individual inspectors and consists primarily of fieldwork. Work hours range between primarily between 8am-4pm, No weekends.

Starting salary range is $50,000-$75,000K, based off experience and certifications held.
