Job Description:
DIRECTOR
JOB SUMMARY
The Director is responsible for operating the center according to Building Kidz Pre-school policies and procedures and Texas state licensing standards to provide an educational, nurturing, and safe environment for children, parents, and staff. Meets expectations for delivering exceptional customer service through acquisition and retention, quality program, financial management, and operational compliance, and demonstrates expected behaviors.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience:
- 8 years of early childhood education experience required
- 2 years of business management experience desirable
- Experience with NAEYC accreditation preferred
- Experience with corporate clients is preferred
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and customer service skills are required
- Meets experience criteria required by the state
Educational Qualifications:
- AA Degree in Child Development
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent major is preferred
- A Minimum of 12 post-secondary units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development PLUS infant toddler units
- Meets education criteria required by the state
- Child Development Site Supervisor Permit/ Program Director is desirable
- First Aid and CPR-certified
General Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Director consistently executes plans that ensure the company’s mission of serving families and children, in alignment with company values
- Establishes and Maintains supportive relationships with children and parents.
- Ensures staff implements age-appropriate curriculum
- Actively lead teaching staff to effectively accomplish center targets, objectives, and goals
- Model and imbed company mission and values into all operations
- Ensure orientation and training are received by teachers and/or others and equip employees with job-critical knowledge and education
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with state licensing authorities, and community contacts
- Partner with the President to create and implement plans and strategies that result in increased enrollment, improved quality, and greater customer satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures
- Ensure proper hiring, continuing education, and development of staff including performance evaluations
- Partner with Directors affiliated with Building Kidz Schools as needed

- Computer skills-must be computer literate at a general business level
- Knowledge of state licensing requirements
Program Responsibilities:
- Train staff to implement the curriculum in a consistent manner
- Model interactions with parents that reinforce curriculum highlights
- Proactively recognize and respond to parent concerns
- Ensure the physical conditions of the facility meet company standards
- Ensure staffing is in ratio
- Partner with the President to raise the quality of the center’s program implementation
- Work cooperatively with the President to aggressively improve areas of concern
- May be called upon to assist the Human Resources Director with staff hiring and staffing levels
- May be called upon for off-site activities related to team building with co-workers
- Participate in impromptu and scheduled safety drills with the children
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
