What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at Building Material Distributors, Inc.?
We are hiring Warehouse Associates for our distribution center in Galt, CA.
The Warehouse Associate performs a variety of duties to move products and material in and out of a warehouse or distribution center by loading and unloading vehicles and storing, picking and pulling stock.
Essential Experience:
- Unload incoming products and move product off of vehicles
- Verify amount of product received with packing list, inspect products for damage, sign documents and forward to office for processing
- Restock products using a put away suggestion or movement sheet and maintain current physical inventory check on products within assigned areas
- Accurately pick and pull stock from assigned areas according to customers’ orders using a forklift or picker
- Hand stack, palletize, label and properly prepare and pack products for safe and secure shipment
- Check accuracy of others’ work and verify customer orders are complete and that the correct products have been picked and staged prior to loading products onto vehicle
- Prepare vehicles for loading by removing all material from vehicles
- Load product onto vehicles in route sequence using loading documents
- Count products and reconcile counts to ensure inventory levels are accurate
- Process returned products by matching product with corresponding documents and replacing product in proper bin location
- Notify supervisor of damage, shortages or concerns with products or equipment
- Maintain forklifts, trucks and other equipment and perform safety checks
- Clean and maintain warehouse and yard
- Follow safe practices and Company’s safety policies and procedures
- Report to work as scheduled and work overtime as business needs dictate
- Work cooperatively with co-workers and other departments to provide assistance as needed
- Perform additional duties as required and requested
