POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Coordinator & Technical Assistant provides crucial support to the engineering team by facilitating project advancement, ensuring adherence to timelines, and also involves hands on technical support such as technical report reviews, and proficient use of technical software such as CAD and Excel. The role is instrumental in optimizing project outcomes in a fast-paced engineering environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Project Coordination:
- Planning and Execution: Assist in all phases of project management from initiation to closure, ensuring projects meet objectives, remain on schedule, and stay within budget.
- Resource Coordination: Allocate and manage resources including manpower, materials, and equipment, optimizing project flow and efficiency.
- Technical Support:
- Document Accuracy: Rigorously review engineering reports and technical documents for precision, ensuring all data aligns with project specifications and regulatory standards.
- CAD Operations: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed drawings and layouts necessary for project planning and implementation.
- Data Management:
- Data Analysis: Apply advanced Excel skills to analyze project metrics, which include but are not limited to budget tracking, performance benchmarks, and resource allocation.
- Documentation: Develop, update, and preserve essential project documentation, ensuring records are accurate and comprehensive for audit and review purposes.
- Communication:
- Internal Liaison: Act as the primary communication link between project teams and department heads to ensure all parties are informed of progress and changes.
- External Communication: Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and contractors to maintain project alignment and address any queries or concerns efficiently.
- Schedule Management:
- Timeline Oversight: Keep a vigilant eye on project timelines through continuous monitoring and updating of project schedules.
- Meeting Coordination: Organize and facilitate regular project meetings and ad hoc discussions to ensure alignment and address any emerging issues.
- Quality Assurance:
- Standards Compliance: Ensure all project outputs comply with internal quality standards as well as external regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement quality control processes and conduct regular inspections to preemptively identify and rectify potential issues.
- Process Improvement:
- Efficiency Enhancements: Constantly seek out and introduce process improvements that enhance project execution and outcomes.
- Best Practice Development: Lead the creation and refinement of project management protocols, elevating team performance and project success.
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Required Experiences, Skills, and Knowledges:
- 4-6 years’ experience in experience in engineering, construction, or related technical field.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in CAD software and Microsoft Excel are essential.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Analytical Skills: Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with an acute attention to detail.
- Preferred Experiences, Skills, and Knowledges:
- Certifications: Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or a professional CAD certification.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in additional project management or design software beyond CAD, such as Revit or Primavera.
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading project teams or managing complex project elements.

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS
- Requires some flexibility in scheduling, such as the ability to work evenings and weekends to meet client deliverables.
LOCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Building Mavens operates primarily as a remote work environment. However, this role may require in-office presence either at the BM office or at client locations as needed. The in-person requirement may vary based on business needs and project demands, ensuring flexibility while maintaining strong client and team collaboration.
