About the Organization: Building One Community (“B1C”) is a non-profit organization established in 2011 as a comprehensive resource center for immigrants in the Stamford, Connecticut area. B1C’s mission is to advance the successful integration of immigrants and their families.
Position: The Facilities Coordinator will welcome program participants and visitors to our reception area and support its programs and operations. This is a 20.5 hour per week onsite Part-Time non-exempt position reporting to Operations Manager, Valeria Verdejo.
The main areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to:
Primary Duties:
· Greet visitors and assist in directing them to the appropriate staff or location.
· Ensure that all visitors are signed in using the attendance log and are issued a lanyard to wear while on the premises.
· Answer phones, direct calls, and take messages as needed.
· Ensure visitors adhere to all building policies, including safety protocols and parking lot regulations.
· Organize the outdoor parking lot and indoor spaces for classes and events as needed.
· Assist partners and partner organizations when they utilize our indoor space as needed.
· Keep the waiting area clean and well-defined.
· Share program details and guide visitors to the right location and/or staff member.
· Follow the Security Check Protocol (SCP) before and after shifts: check doors and unlock or lock them as needed, clear evacuation routes if necessary, activate or deactivate the alarm system, turn devices on or off, adjust thermostats, and complete all other tasks outlined in the SCP.
· Support the Facilities team by covering shifts as needed, depending on availability.
· Receive packages and store supplies as needed.
· Offer phone support for B1C initiatives and carry out occasional data entry tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Fluent verbal and written skills in English and Spanish required.
· High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
· Authorization to work in the United States.
· Basic computer knowledge required (Internet search; Microsoft Office suite).
· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, including a welcoming, patient, and positive attitude.
· Strong commitment to B1C’s mission.
Schedule:
Monday to Thursday: 4:15 PM to 8:30 PM
Friday: 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
