Position Overview
BPI is seeking an Engineered Wood Products (EWP) Specialist to support design, sales, and operations of engineered wood products. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality solutions for our customers, ensuring precise design, estimating, order fulfillment, and customer support.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Estimation
- Create floor, roof, and wall system designs using specialized software.
- Develop accurate and competitive bids that align with customer needs.
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Manage sales and order entry with accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and resolve customer issues promptly.
- Engage with customers to understand their building needs and propose cost-effective solutions.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, product specifications, and design values for engineered wood products.
- Monitor inventory and coordinate with management to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
- Assist in preparing shipments of engineered wood products for delivery.
- Perform essential warehouse tasks, including receiving, staging, and loading products safely.
- Operate power tools such as chainsaws and handsaws to cut wood to required lengths.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior sales experience in engineered wood products is preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD systems, blueprint reading, and drafting is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of construction principles and material specifications.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, etc.).
- Ability to work at a desk for extended periods using a computer.
- Capability to lift and carry materials up to 20 pounds; occasional heavier lifting may be required.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions when handling yard operations.
