Position Overview
Temporary Part-time, Adult Education Instructor - Bilingual (Spanish/English) Multilevel ESL: The Multilevel ESL Adult Education Instructor teaches multilevel ESL classes in person, in Spanish and English to 10-20 adult property service workers (primarily janitors) at work site locations. Multi-level classes may range from beginning low level to beginner intermediate levels. Classes are learner-centered and class sessions are generally held on a weekly basis, with each class being one to two hours long. Curriculum will be provided, but some prep work is required. The instructor will complete minimal administrative work in a timely fashion. Administrative duties may include, but are not limited to, maintaining class attendance and assessment records, completing timesheets on time, distributing flyers to students about additional educational opportunities, weekly check-in with class coordinator, and completing other BSP paperwork as necessary. Teaching schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday from 11am to 1 pm. The class begins ASAP. This is a part time temporary position- dependent on hours and class availability. This position will not include benefits.
Experience & Education:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- TESOL Certificate OR equivalent teaching experience required.
- Spanish conversation skills and/or fluence is required.
- M.A. in TESOL/TEFL and / or California Adult Ed Teaching Credential is highly preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum one to two years ESL classroom-based instruction to beginner learners.
- Instructors must be able to address diverse student needs in a multilevel classroom.
- Experience with low-literacy students is a plus.
- Experience teaching vocational ESL is also a plus.

- Spanish fluency is required.

- As a guideline, BSP adheres to all state and federal laws. BSP enforces a policy mandating all new employees provide proof of vaccination or a religious/ medical exemption. If an employee has an exemption, they will be required to wear a mask and send a negative test to HR during any in person events.
