LOAD BUILDER

POSITION SUMMARY: LOADBUILDER

The load builder is responsible for the unloading of material delivered by vendors as well as building loads for drivers to deliver. Good communication and customer service skills are necessary at all times. The position requires the ability to safely operate a forklift in order to move materials throughout the yard and to load and unload trucks. Organizational skills are required to place items back in stock and to follow paperwork procedures. Sorting through materials and getting them to the right location using a forklift or by physical labor is required. Teamwork is essential to work towards a common goal each day and requires the ability to work without supervision.

This is a full time position, with overtime required on occasion. The job is Monday - Friday, with occasional weekend work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Loads/unloads materials from to/trucks using a forklift. Maintains essential maintenance on forklift. Operates safely and does not damage the materials.

Moves materials to achieve common daily goals set forth by Operations. Good customer service skills and safe handling of materials.

Returns are stocked timely and communicated to Operations.

Keeps other yard workers duties in mind while moving and staging materials. Adhere to yard parking policies.

Communicates with team. Listens to how the drivers need their loads stacked. Ensures paperwork is completed.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Highschool diploma or equivalent required.

One year forklift experience and certification required

Warehouse or lumber yard worker experience preferred.

Must be able to lift 75 pounds as well as stand for long periods of time, stoop, crouch, crawl, push and pull.

Good hearing is required..

This is an outside position, so must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
