Seeking a skilled and dependable General Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded knowledge of basic construction, mechanical work, and maintenance tasks. This individual will be responsible for lifting heavy materials for junk removal, performing various repair and maintenance duties, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Junk Removal: Safely lift and transport heavy materials and debris from job sites.
- Basic Construction Work:
- Framing, drywall installation, and repair.
- Painting and surface preparation.
- General carpentry tasks.
- Plumbing: Perform minor plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and addressing basic drainage issues.
- Electrical Work: Handle minor electrical repairs, such as replacing outlets, light fixtures, and switches.
- Mechanical Repairs: Conduct minor mechanical work as needed on tools, machinery, or equipment.
- Tool Handling: Use a variety of tools effectively and safely for construction and maintenance tasks.
- Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve basic maintenance issues on-site.
- Communication: Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors. Requirements:
- Physical Ability: Must be capable of lifting and carrying heavy materials (up to 50 lbs. or more) regularly.
- Experience: Proven experience in general maintenance, construction, or a similar field.
- Tools: Own a reliable vehicle and a basic set of tools. Familiarity with a variety of construction tools is essential.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry tasks.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints or technical drawings (preferred but not required).
- Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
