Job Description:
The Project Engineer position with Building Zone Industries (BZI), serves an essential function in construction operations through the assistance of project managers and superintendents in areas of documentation, schedule, vendor and client relations from project inception to completion. The BZI Project Engineer handles day to day work challenges confidently and is willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change while showing resilience in the face of constraints, frustrations or adversity while assisting with various projects throughout the United States.
- Work with Project Managers and superintendents with planning, staffing, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, safety and coordination of subcontractors and internal technical and support staff
- Perform tasks maintaining all health, safety and environmental rules and procedures and ensure all work is done enhances the safety of the project
- Assist the project team in building/maintaining project schedules
- Assist the project superintendent in the coordination of subcontractors as applicable
- Track owner and subcontractor change orders
- Track crew and equipment information for Monthly Billing purposes
- Assist Project Manager with Change Order analysis and Project Close Out
- Attend weekly Site Safety Walks and provide notification of any violations
- Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements/pricing
- Bid package preparation, write scopes of work and review for recommended award
- Develop Micro Schedules and complete productivity schedules for schedule analysis
- Use of Procore, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project
- Professional attitude and communication skills
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate degree (Preferred)
- Strong technical knowledge of construction, including the ability to read and interpret structural drawings
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and project managers
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead
