Job Summary :
Buildology is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Control (QC) Technician to join our Precast Division. This role is responsible for ensuring that all precast concrete products meet our high-quality standards, industry regulations, and customer expectations. The QC Technician will conduct daily testing, inspections, and documentation to maintain compliance with NPCA (National Precast Concrete Association) requirements while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct moisture testing and input results into the batch computer.
- Log curing tank temperatures and record the number of daily cylinder breaks.
- Document previous day's production activities and maintain records.
- Mark all Redi-Rock blocks with block type and date cast, inspecting for imperfections and noting corrective actions.
- Perform cylinder break tests and log results in appropriate mix design tracking files.
- Track daily cement usage and order materials as necessary, ensuring proper documentation for NPCA.
- Conduct post-pour QC checks for products produced on the previous day.
- Complete pre-pour QC inspections for upcoming production, verifying color, mix design, and required concrete amounts.
- Ensure batch tickets are provided to the mixer operator.
- Test mixes, conducting one test per mix per day (typically 2-3 mixes daily).
- Verify insert locations, drip grooves, and finishing details for applicable products.
- Assist in maintaining and calibrating QC equipment per NPCA requirements.
- Keep the QC lab organized and ensure a clean workspace.
- Support Buildology Precast in maintaining compliance with all NPCA standards.
- Assist with coordination and documentation of bi-weekly production meetings, monthly safety meetings, and quarterly QC meetings.
- Learn to operate the batch plant in case of emergencies.
- Conduct monthly inventory of aggregates.
- Contribute to the maintenance and updates of the Buildology Precast QC Manual.
