The Business Banking Team Leader is responsible for the sales leadership of a team of business bankers. Business Relationship Bankers focus on building, retaining, and deepening relationships with small business customers. These customers typically have annual revenues of $5 million or less. The Team Leader plays a key role in ensuring the team meets performance goals, provides exceptional client service, and upholds the bank’s standards in compliance and ethics.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of business bankers, providing guidance on client relationship strategies, sales techniques, and portfolio management.
- Work with manager to establish clear performance objectives for each banker, regularly monitor progress, and conduct performance reviews.
- Utilize Builtwell’s training programs to enhance bankers' skills in sales, customer service, product knowledge, and risk management.
- Promote a collaborative team environment that values accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
- Customer Relationship Management
- Oversee the team's efforts in managing and expanding relationships with small business customers, ensuring that high-quality service is delivered consistently.
- Support bankers in assessing customer needs, presenting tailored financial solutions, and identifying opportunities to deepen relationships.
- Act as an additional point of contact for high-value or complex customer relationships and for receiving and resolving issues or escalated customer concerns.
- Sales and Portfolio Management
- Partner with manager to drive the achievement of team sales targets and goals, including new account acquisition, loan growth, and deposit retention.
- Work with bankers to develop action plans for portfolio growth and risk management.
- Partner with Treasury, Marketing, Credit and other internal teams to develop and execute sales strategies that align with the bank’s objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field recommended.
- 5 years of experience in business banking or commercial banking, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Strong understanding of small business banking products, services, and financial analysis.
- Proven ability to manage and grow client relationships while coaching others to achieve the same.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to business banking and lending.
