Location: 884 Forest Hill Ave Grand Rapids, MI 49546
Description:
Bread assistants will be responsible for mixing, shaping, and baking bread. Their duties will be focused on ensuring the different types of bread are cooked and ready to go when doors open.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Product uniformity and quality control with careful adherence to recipes and processes
- Notifying management of any variances/problems with batches
- Checking products in ovens to avoid overbaking or underbaking
- Notifying management of inventory/supply needs
- Making sure ingredients are used in proper rotation
- Minimizing waste by labeling extra ingredients based on anticipated usage
- Maximizing efficiency of baking team by working quickly and avoiding distractions such as excessive conversation (especially during batch assembly)
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to begin work shifts as early as 5 am
- Ability to work mostly on foot for up to 8 hour shifts, including ability to work for 4 hours on foot in between breaks
- Good math skills
- Careful attention to detail
- Ability to lift and move 10-30 pound boxes or bags repeatedly throughout the day
- Ability to wash dishes in a commercial sink, mop and do other bakery-related physical activities
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
