JOB SUMMARY:
The National Sales Manager is expected to use their high-level sales expertise to develop and drive effective company sales strategies. A key element in this role is conducting research into market trends and behaviors to inform and guide the company’s growth efforts. Success in this role is demonstrated by meeting sales targets and maintaining a strong presence in chosen market segments.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for all commercial activity and development for MSW, Specialty Waste division across North America.
· Maintain existing MSW/Specialty Waste customer accounts while growing revenue and margin for all accounts.
· Grow existing and new MSW/Specialty business and opportunities with current and new/potential customers.
· Contribute to overall Commercial Team goals of streamlining and driving efficiencies in the quotations and selling processes.
· Hires and trains regional and local sales managers and staff.
· Organizes and oversees the schedules, territories, and performance of regional and local sales managers.
· Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
· Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
· Designs and implements effective sales strategies for the firm
· Generates sales reports and forecasts
· Monitors sales performance
· Analyzes market trends and behaviors
· Maintains healthy working relationships with clients
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management positions.
· Experience is the industrial waste and transportation industries highly desirable.
· Proficient in MS Office and other sales management software.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills.
· Strong critical and analytical thinking abilities.
· Works well under pressure.
· Working knowledge of market trends and behaviors.

Physical Demands
This position is considered to be mostly sedentary and will require the employee to sit for extended periods of time.
