JOB SUMMARY:

The Insurance Compliance Manager will oversee the organization’s comprehensive insurance and risk management program, assessing and identifying risks to leverage the safety, security, or financial success of the organization.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the identification, assessment, communication, measurement, and management of company-wide risk.
  • Analyzes and evaluate the likelihood and potential impact of identified risks.
  • Manages insurance procurement, develops and implements risk management and compliance policies/procedures, and manages claims and litigation.
  • Manages relationships with third-party service providers, including brokers, underwriters, and other third-party administrators.
  • Investigates incidents and near misses.
  • Conducts root cause analysis.
  • Evaluates and provides recommendations regarding selection of policies, including but not limited to: Property, Casualty, General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Directors and Officers, and Cyber-risk policies.
  • Coordinates and submits, as necessary, the gathering of insurance policy renewal data.
  • Partners with all departments regarding incident reports and claims or losses.
  • Investigates, resolves, and responds to all potential risks across various areas (financial, legal, reputational etc.)
  • Provides timely notification of claims to insurance carriers.
  • Oversee insurance programs and claims management.
  • Works with the company’s insurance brokers to respond to requests for certificates of insurance and claims history documents.
  • Partners with key stakeholders to develop and implement standards, processes, programs, and best practices related to risk management.
  • Identifies potential risk exposures, recommends solutions, implements approved programs, promotes loss prevention, and updates and monitors compliance.
  • Manages all phases of the claims process from intake and investigation through litigation, settlement, and/or trial, and consults and/or participates in negotiations, conferences, and mediations with adjusting companies, outside legal counsel, staff, claimants, and other parties.
  • Manages the workers’ compensation and incident reporting program and processes, assesses claims, and reports them to carriers as appropriate.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, finance, risk management).
  • Certified Risk Manager Professional (CRMP) Certification preferred.
  • Associate Risk Manager (ARM) Certification preferred.
  • Acredited Claims Adjuster (ACA) Certification preferred.
  • 5-7 Years of insurance brokerage experience a plus.
  • Transportation and Logistics experience is a plus.
  • Superior organization, project management skills, and attention to detail
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Physical Demands

This position is considered to be mostly sedentary and will require the employee to sit for extended periods of time. It will also require the employee to occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. They may engage in bending, stretching, reaching, and other motions in the course of a working day. They will be engaged in using office equipment and computers. They may engage in lifting supplies and materials up to 20 pounds from time to time. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear.


Working Conditions

This job is located primarily in an indoor office environment with varying noise levels. There may be varying degrees of temperature. The employee may be interrupted from time to time.
