The Proposal Project Manager's Activities are to produce thoughtfully conceived and accurate proposals by being fully engaged in all aspects of building the response. This position oversees the sales opportunity by collaborating with all members of the sales, marketing, finance, legal, and engineering teams to ensure content is complete, accurate, and timely. This position also ensures that completed bids are professional in presentation and delivered on on time and in compliance with the requirements of the proposal request.

This position oversees the sales opportunity by collaborating with all members of the sales, marketing, finance, legal, and engineering teams to ensure content is complete, accurate, and timely. This position also ensures that completed bids are professional in presentation and delivered on on time and in compliance with the requirements of the proposal request.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a detailed review of each sales inquiry to interpret the scope of work and associated deliverables
- Develop a project and proposal matrix schedule for completing proposal work and ensure project information is properly documented and managed in with the Salesforce CRM
- Maintain open and constant communications with the Sales Managers, Design Engineers, Estimating and Legal teams to ensure support and quality of project information along with understanding of requirements of proposal and document
- Manage Multiple proposal requests simultaneously, including the preparation of proposals on a day-to-day basis and hold regular progress meetings with the proposal teams, all while ensuring adherence to the established proposal matrix and schedule
- Communicate information during the internal proposal kick-off meetings with sales manager and identified teams to ensure proposal aligns with customer needs
- Liaise with sales Managers, operations, and technical teams as well as other departments across multiple business segments and offices, to request documentation required for the proposal/prequalification submittals
- Identify key problem areas during the project development and review problems and recommend solutions with the appropriate parties to ensure accuracy and timeliness of proposal
- Review equipment design and cost estimates for accuracy against technical documents and requirements (internal and external)
- Coordinate the internal flow and review of all proposal inputs and outputs while ensuring the appropriate personnel review and approval levels are in place prior to submitting the proposal
- Prepare and publish quotes, proposals and bids as well as final contracts for execution
- On successful contract award, work with operations to ensure a successful handover of the project to the execution team
- Provide administrative support to the executive or sales management teams as needed
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Process, or Chemical Engineering or related field preferred
- Experience in an equipment design and manufacturing business in an engineering capacity
- Previous experience in a technical sales environment, with exposure to large capital equipment contracts desired
- Experience working in designing with 3D modeling software a plus
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) and Adobe Acrobat required
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) experience required; Salesforce highly desired
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, the ability to plan and manage, work in an efficient manner and the ability to work well under stress and time pressure
- Must be highly motivated, well organized, resourceful and proactive with a tenacious and empowering team orientated style
- Must possess demonstrated strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills
- Ability to be flexible with work hours and adjust to rapidly changing priorities
- Must be able to work independently with a detailed focus to provide a finished product, while working on multiple, complex and high dollar value projects
