What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Assistant / Litigation Defense Secretary position at Bullaro & Carton?
This is a full-time, hybrid position in Northwest Indiana (2-3 days in office). The Litigation Legal Secretary performs complex secretarial and clerical duties, requiring knowledge of legal terminology and the legal process. The position reports to the Firm's Office Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- E-filing all court documents.
- Schedule meetings, depositions and maintain Attorney calendars.
- Communicate with clients in a professional manner.
- Proofread documents by checking for proper formatting, spelling and grammatical errors, and ensuring that attachments, exhibits or enclosures are intact before distribution.
- Transcribe digital dictation.
- Maintain client files - hard copies and digital.
- Prioritize workload and deadlines.
- Coordinate and make travel arrangements.
- Provide updates on files to Attorneys and Office Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum two (2) years experience as a Litigation Legal Defense Secretary
- Experience with E-filing in IN, IL, Collar Counties and Federal Courts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
