Job Summary:
The Shop Manager will be responsible for managing the production of metal panels and steel components, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with computer programs, and excellent people management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee daily shop operations, including production scheduling, workflow management, and inventory control.
· Ensure all products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
· Manage and train shop personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
· Operate and maintain machinery and equipment, troubleshooting mechanical issues as needed.
· Utilize computer programs for production planning, inventory management, and reporting.
· Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
· Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to meet customer needs and deadlines.
· Monitor and manage shop expenses, optimizing cost efficiency.
· Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.
· Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in metal building components.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field preferred.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in metal building components.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with machinery and equipment.
· Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and production planning software.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, excellent leadership and people management skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
