STATEMENT OF THE JOB
- This position will be assigned to the Wastewater Division
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE/LICENSING & TRAINING
High School Diploma or GED, and any combination of training, education, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the functions of the position which includes knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, procedures, and standard practices used in the maintenance, repair, construction, and clean-up of City streets, facilities and drainage systems
LICENSING & TRAINING:
- Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment.
- Must also obtain the National Incident Management System (NIMS) training with FEMA, based on assignment.
- Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled duties in the maintenance, construction, and repair of City streets, rights-of-way, water and wastewater systems.
Perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled duties in the maintenance, construction, and repair of City streets, rights-of-way, drainage systems and other Utilities Department facilities.
Maintains road rights-of-way clearing debris, cutting weeds, and cleaning ditches using required hand tools. Operates a variety of trucks and equipment such as power tools, chain saws, concrete saws, air hammers, pavement breakers, tampers, and two-way radios in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.
Works with assigned crew, removing weeds, clearing debris, clean ditches and maintaining landscaping, etc.
Completes required daily logs and reports.
Picks up trash throughout the city.
Performs routine maintenance to assigned tools, equipment, and buildings.Performs daily vehicle inspections, clean and wash equipment.Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
Complies with and promotes safe practices in agreement with the safety rules and procedures set forth in the Loss Control Program.
Performs related work as required.
