TITLE: Landscaper
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or valid G.E.D.
2. Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
3. Possess valid Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint
card.
4. 2 years’ experience preferred.
5. Able to show experience as a school landscaper, or the
equivalent in a landscaping position at another institution or
firm.
6. Able to demonstrate an aptitude in operating power
equipment, to include, but not limited to, truck, lawn mower,
hedge trimmer, tractor, front-end loader and backhoe.
7. Ability to operate flood irrigation systems, including well pumps
and interconnecting irrigation pipes.
Alternative to the above qualifications as the Governing Board finds
appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance & Operations
WORKS CLOSELY WITH: Director of Maintenance & Operations
JOB GOAL: Maintain grounds in a condition of operating excellence so that full
educational use of them may be made at all times. To assist the
custodial staff in maintaining district-wide grounds by providing a
clean and efficient facility.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list represents the essential tasks performed by the position. These essential job functions are not to be
construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. Employees will be required to perform other
duties as assigned. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
1. Perform all work associated with the maintenance of the school
grounds district-wide.
2. Mow lawns; trim trees and hedges, and water trees, shrubs,
and lawns on the district-wide grounds and the school football
field, track field, softball and baseball diamonds and areas
within chain link fence.
3. Diagnose and repair all sprinkler systems so each tree/plant is
getting the correct amount of water.
4. Keep all sidewalks clean, swept and clear of debris to maintain
safe walkways.
5. Pick up all trash and debris daily.
6. Check, maintain and make any repairs, if needed, to exterior
gates and fences for security of campus.
7. Perform preparation and cleanup maintenance of all playing
fields prior to each scheduled school athletic activity as assigned
by the Bullhead City School District.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring
the efficient and effective function of the District.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 4 days per week/208 days per year. Hourly rate and workdays
established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of
the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Staff.
