Bullhead City School District is seeking a highly qualified Librarian / Media Teacher at Bullhead City Middle School. We are seeking teachers who are excited to create an inspiring and nurturing classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and engagement.
This position requires certification by the Arizona Department of Education.
Position Open for the 2025-2026 School Year
TITLE: Librarian/Media Teacher QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education
2. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Library or Media Services preferred
3. Current certification as set by the Arizona Department of Education
4. Positive recommendations from past employers and/or training institution(s)
5. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, colleagues, supervisors, and other personnel
Alternative to the above qualifications as the Governing Board finds appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL: To provide a full spectrum of educational enrichment materials, programs, and services so that students and teachers will find instructional and non-instructional resources appropriate to his/her interests, abilities, and level of maturity.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop and maintain a functional library/media program in the school.
2. Research and recommend selection and acquisition of books and other resources for the school’s basic collection.
3. Direct purchasing, processing, and organizational procedures of library materials.
4. Maintain a system of accounting for all library/media resources.
5. Stay current with educational resources, trends, and practices for use of various media.
6. Assist with procurement of technological hardware and software.
7. Maintain up-to-date records of library resources.
8. Teach students to develop independent reference work and to develop skill in the use of a wide variety of resources.
9. Assist students who have special reading problems or unusual intellectual interests.
10. Create an environment that is to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
11. Create and consistently implement a behavior management plan for the library to assure the safety and well-being of students.
12. Supervise students within the classroom and other assigned areas to maintain students’ health and safety.
13. Implement District and site safety, health, wellness, and hygiene practices as directed.
14. Participate collaboratively in grade level, content area, school site, and district meetings and committees as required, contributing to the improvement of specific and overall goals for improving student outcomes.
15. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, personnel, equipment, materials and facilities.
16. Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and District Policies.
17. Participate in ongoing professional growth opportunities both within the district and with outside opportunities.
18. Perform other tasks as directed by the Principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 1488 hours per year (returning teachers) or 1512 hours per year (new teachers) according to the appropriate work calendar with a one-year work agreement. Salary to be established with the Board.
