Bullis School seeks an Upper School Economics and Business Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year to join a collaborative department committed to growing a robust experience for students interested in developing their skills in business and entrepreneurship. Candidates should be capable of, and interested in, teaching a range of students with a specific focus on the implementation of a robust entrepreneurship curriculum. This position involves teaching five classes which include Entrepreneurship Principles, Accounting, and Economics. Additional opportunities to supervise after-school activities are based on need and interest. This is a 10-month position reporting to the Director of Entrepreneurship.

Duties & Qualifications
Essential Functions

Responsible for teaching a full load of Entrepreneurship classes

Duties within the community, including student advising or other extra-curricular activities
-
Participate and collaborate with teachers and other subject area experts on grade-level and interdisciplinary teams

Develop lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the basic instructional philosophy

Create learning environments that encourage risk-taking and deep learning for students with a range of learning abilities using a variety of methods and technology

Use of reflection and feedback aimed at continued growth in the field of teaching and working with young people
-
Develop and deliver highly engaging, innovative lessons in course-aligned teams
-
Use technology to blend learning and engage students in active, experiential, and hands-on learning

Attend Upper School division, Entrepreneurship department meetings, and grade level meetings

Committed to staying up to date on current pedagogical practices and field-related trends

Communicate with parents, school counselors and administrators on students’ progress, as needed and appropriate

Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standard and provide timely feedback to students

Use the student learning management system to provide timely feedback, grades, and assignments to students

Ability to regularly sit and/or stand for long periods and the ability to lift to 25 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations

Education and Experience
Required:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, International Affairs, Accounting, or related field

Minimum of three years teaching experience in secondary education
Preferred:
-
Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, International Affairs, Accounting, or related field

Experience in starting and developing a business
-
Experience teaching in a technology-rich environment

Knowledge of the lean startup process, customer development, business model canvas, new venture phases, entrepreneurial mindset

Teaching certificates are not required
Compensation and benefits are competitive, with an anticipated annual salary range of $65,000 to $ 95,000
