Description
Bullis School seeks a dynamic and experienced Varsity Volleyball Coach for the 2025 season. This individual will lead our competitive and spirited girls’ varsity volleyball program, continuing a legacy of excellence while fostering a positive, growth-oriented team culture. The coach will be responsible for all aspects of the program, including skill development, game strategy, team management, and mentorship of student-athletes both on and off the court.

Duties & Qualifications
Essential Functions
• Plan and lead all varsity volleyball practices, games, and team events
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Instruct athletes on proper techniques, game strategies, and conditioning
• Collaborate with the Athletic Department on scheduling, logistics, and program goals
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and School staff
• Support player development, including guidance on the college recruitment process when applicable
• Serve as a role model for student-athletes in behavior, attitude, and commitment
• Work in alignment with Bullis School’s mission, values, and athletic philosophy
• Assist the Athletic Department in hiring and mentoring the full volleyball coaching staff, including Middle School, JV, and Varsity coaches
Experience
Required:
• Prior successful experience coaching volleyball, preferably at the high school or collegiate level
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor student-athletes
• Deep understanding of the game, with a focus on skill development and strategic gameplay
• CPR/First Aid and concussion training certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Must be available for preseason, regular season, and postseason play (August–November)
Preferred:
• Collegiate playing or coaching experience
• Experience coaching club volleyball
• Experience working in independent schools or with student-athletes in competitive academic environments
• Experience coaching or mentoring at the Middle School level
• Interest in being involved with the full program, including Middle School volleyball
This is a stipend position paid at the end of the season in the amount of $8,500 - $10,000
