This position is for the 2025-2026 school year.
Mt. Washington Elementary is looking for a caring, positive, energetic candidate that will assist a certified teacher in providing instruction to individuals and small groups; as well as monitor student progress.
Assistant will be responsible for helping the K teacher with class instruction and other duties such as working with small groups of children to reinforce lessons, providing one-on-one instruction to students and supervising students in the classroom. Applicant must be a positive, compassionate individual who is passionate about working with young children.
170 student instructional days, 7 planning days, 2 extended days
Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date.
Position is considered part-time and not eligible for benefits unless combined with another position to make full-time.
Salary is based on Board Approved salary schedule for the 2025-2026 school year.
24-25 pay scale
Step 0: $15.59 per hour
Step 10: $19.19 per hour
Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year-long contract and divided by the number of remaining paychecks. This position is considered a ten month employee on the pay schedule. 4 paychecks will be paid at the end of June.

- Must have 48 semester hours, an Associates Degree or have a high school diploma and have passed the paraeducator assessment exam. Must provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.
