What are the responsibilities and job description for the McKinney-Vento Teacher Liaison - Part Time position at Bullitt County Schools?
This position is 60 day, 3.75 hours a day for the 2024-2025 school year only.
POSITION SUMMARY: Do whatever it takes [within the law and code of ethics] to remove barriers to student academic success for students in the McKinney Vento Program and other programs serving at-risk students. Plan, organize, and deliver programs of instruction that support the premise that high expectations for all students are possible. Serve as a facilitator and problem solver for students who have significant barriers to learning. Work with school counselor, principal, teachers, and district staff to improve student achievement based on individual needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Kentucky teaching certificate, license, or other legal credentials required to deliver instruction.
2) Experience and such alternatives to the above qualifications as deemed appropriate and acceptable by the Kentucky Professional Standards Board.
3) Experience with working with families to bridge school/home gap. Experience preferred that is relevant to said duties within the scope of job description and what the Superintendent may find appropriate and beneficial.

REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator/Assistant Superintendent for Student Learning
SUPERVISES: Students, instructional services, and other resources as applicable.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes educational data to determine supplemental instructional and academic support needs of targeted population.
- Demonstrates proficiency in planning and delivering developmentally appropriate, research-based instruction that aligns to the Kentucky Academic Standards.
- Confers with teachers on a regular basis as to the needs and progress of identified students.
- Identifies pupil needs and collaborates with other professional staff members in assessing pupil needs, attitude and learning problems. Creates a plan to reduce identified barriers to learning including attendance, achievement, and social functioning.
- Works with students individually or in small groups to assist in their completion of classroom assignments and development of basic academic and study skills.
- Uses technology to organize data and communicate and share resources with students and families.
- Meets with parents/guardians of identified students who are significantly below grade level and provides home resources in order to improve student learning.
- Meets with parents/guardians in their home or other locations to discuss student academic needs both alone and with other staff as appropriate.
- Refers to school and district resources for social, emotional, or physical needs of the students.
- Implements Board policies, administrative regulations, and school rules governing student life and conduct and school facilities.
- Performs professional responsibilities and duties as outlined in Board policy such as regular attendance, punctuality, and professional development.
- Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by the law and district policy.
- May be asked to perform health related services for students after receiving appropriate training.
- Ensures that oral and/or written communications to parents are clear, accurate, and understandable.
- Performs any other such duties as designated by the immediate supervisor.
Salary based on board approved salary schedule.
This is a part time position for the 2024-2025 school year only.
