What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Instructional Health Assistant (Visually Impaired) (2024-2025) - District Wide position at Bullitt County Schools?
This position is for the 2024-2025 school year.
Responsible for assisting teachers and schools with providing assistance in classroom instruction, student behavioral support, and providing for the health care needs of students during the school day in accordance with state laws and district regulations.
School placement and schedule is evaluated periodically and determined based on need. Initial Placement for the 2024-2025 school year is district wide, working with students who are visually impaired and assisting our Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
The position is 7 hours per day with 170 student instructional days, 4 paid holidays, 2 extended days and 7 Bullitt/planning days for a total of 183 days per year. Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date. (Considered full time with benefits - see below)
- Must have 48 semester hours, an Associates Degree or have a high school diploma and have passed the paraeducator assessment exam. Must provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.
Step 0: $15.59
Step 10: $19.19
New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE: It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)
Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year long contract and divided by the number of reamining paychecks.
