Corrections Counselor

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support and guidance to individuals facing various challenges, utilizing effective counseling techniques to foster personal growth and development. The Counselor will work collaboratively with other professionals in a supportive environment, ensuring that clients receive comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to identify clients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage client engagement and progress.
• Provide counseling services in areas such as conflict management, case management, and social work.
• Supervise group sessions and facilitate discussions that promote healing and personal development.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with confidentiality standards.
• Collaborate with law enforcement or military personnel when necessary to support clients transitioning from structured environments.
• Develop and implement workshops or programs aimed at enhancing clients' coping skills and resilience.
• Stay informed about community resources and refer clients as needed for additional support services.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field is preferred.
• Certification in counseling or related areas is a plus.
• Experience in supervising others or leading group sessions is highly desirable.
• Strong skills in conflict management and case management are essential for success in this role.
• Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques is beneficial for effective client engagement.
• Previous experience working with law enforcement or military populations is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong interpersonal abilities are required.
• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all client interactions is essential.

Pay: $21.33 per hour

• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
