Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and assess the situation upon arrival.
- Extinguish fires using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Conduct search and rescue operations in hazardous environments.
- Provide first aid and basic life support to injured individuals.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on firefighting equipment and vehicles.
- Participate in training drills and educational programs to enhance firefighting skills.
- Maintain physical fitness to meet the demands of the job, including heavy lifting as required.
- Document incidents accurately and maintain records of fire responses.
- Collaborate with other emergency services during multi-agency responses.
Qualifications
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in Basic Life Support is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus for operating fire apparatus.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues is beneficial.
- Familiarity with assessing vital signs during medical emergencies is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure are essential.
- Must be willing to undergo background checks, drug screenings, and physical fitness assessments as part of the hiring process.
