POSITION SUMMARY:

The registrar conducts all functions necessary to ensure the successful processing of student enrollments, withdrawals and transfers. This includes accurate data entry, maintenance of permanent records and providing assistance in the scheduling of students.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High school diploma or GED.

    • Experience with computer data entry.
    • Experience working with a diverse group of people.
    • Embodies the core values of the district; relational, purposeful, reflective, resourceful, courageous, and accountable.

  • Must be able to satisfactorily perform essential functions of the position. When appropriate, reasonable accommodations will be provided to afford persons with disabilities an opportunity to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Must be able to provide a criminal background check with results that adhere to Bulloch County Board of Education Policy GAK(1).


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary training in computer information systems or office management.
  • Experience with student information systems.
  • Knowledge of Georgia laws regarding enrollment and withdrawal in the K-12 school system.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes new student registrations, including those submitted through the online registration system.
  • Processes student withdrawals, including diligent follow-up to ensure records requests or Declaration of Intent to Home School documents are received for all students withdrawing and subject to compulsory school attendance.
  • Requests records from previously attended schools.
  • Performs all duties that pertain to FTE in the student information system.
  • May assign student bus numbers according to primary residence address or other approved address.
  • Reviews and approves data for census verification after parent submission.
  • Acquires Georgia Unique Identifier for Education (GTID) numbers for all students.
  • Schedules students to classes in the student information system, as directed by the school administration.
  • Creates and maintains student permanent records, including reviewing immunization records to check for compliance.
  • Accurately processes and enters student transcript records.
  • Processes requests for records or enrollment verification statements for previous or current students.
  • Assists with the accurate reporting of student data for all major state and federal data collections.
  • May create master schedule in IC.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


PERFORMANCE FACTORS:

  • Stressful Circumstances: Ability to produce quality work when short or unexpected deadlines are presented. Ability to adjust work processes without incident when new and unexpected directions are given relative to a project that may be in process. Ability to maintain composure and not compound a situation when interacting with persons who may be angry, demanding or otherwise less than polite.
  • Independent Judgment: Ability to complete work tasks without being given precise directions relative to work steps or the final project.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to establish priorities, simultaneously manage multiple tasks; and deliver a quality work product by a designated deadline.
  • Public Contact: Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with superiors, colleagues, parents, and other individuals within and external to the school system. Ability to demonstrate professionalism while interacting with others and to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • Attendance and Dependability: Ability to report to work at the scheduled time and to seldom be absent from work. Demonstrate prompt and regular work attendance. Process appropriate paperwork to authorize absences in accordance with school system procedures. Ability to complete work in a timely, accurate manner and to be conscientious about work performance.


EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent or designated supervisor in accordance with Policy GBI - Evaluation of Personnel.
