Buncha is looking for an HR Business Partner with a broad skill set and a “get it done” philosophy to be an asset and collaborator for a growing team. Success in the role requires an adept communicator, analytical problem solver, and a master at dealing with ambiguity! What We’re Looking for
- Openness: we believe in radical candor and value everyone’s respectful point of view
- Certification or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Professional HR certification (SHRM, HCI)
- 5 years of professional experience in Human Resources, preferably in a marketplace setting
- Prior experience working with an hourly operations workforce
- Proven expertise with HRIS/Payroll software systems (we use JustWorks!), including payroll processing
- Aptitude for technology, and familiarity with Greenhouse, Slack, and When I Work, JustWorks is a plus, you’ll quickly learn our proprietary applications.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels within the organization
- Experience managing a team of HR professionals and recruiters with a deep understanding of recruiting best practices
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- You are comfortable using data to tell a story and can speak confidently to the metrics of your role.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Thorough knowledge of all states' employment-related laws, compliance, and regulations
What You’ll Be Doing
- Serve as the HR Business Partner to Founders and Executive Leadership team and act as an administrator for all HR business functions including Payroll, Benefits, and Talent Acquisition.
- Develop and manage onboarding strategies and new hire orientation
- Process payroll via JustWorks, ensuring accurate processing of compensation
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring/escalating complex and/or sensitive personnel matters appropriately.
- Manage one direct report with a focus on mentorship and growth.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Oversee field and corporate recruitment; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Review, track, and document compliance with training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional development, and certification programs.
- Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Assist with constructive and timely performance assessments.
